Our shampoo bars are great for the environment and wonderful for your hair, so we need to make sure you get the most out of them.
The first step is to rinse well. That’s key. Prior to that, you need to work the lather through your hair thoroughly. To help with that we have a shampoo brush that you can use to work it right through your scalp. Some people don’t do that which can leave patches unclean. So, work it right through your scalp and rinse it extremely well with warm water.
It’s also vital to use an agent to restore the PH balance to your scalp and hair and remove dulling soap film.
When you wash your hair with a shampoo bar it can feel a bit strange initially. That’s because it’s natural soap and not a detergent and it ruffles the cuticles of the hair. We sometimes call it “funky” hair. So, what you need to do is smooth that cuticle down. You can do that with two tablespoons of cider vinegar in a couple of litres of water from the shower head and then pour that over your hair working it through thoroughly.
It feels great and has many benefits but, most importantly, it smoothes the cuticles down flat so that your hair is shiny and tangle free.
Or, if you like, you can do it with our Apple Silk which works in the same way and is an easy and portable way of doing it. It uses malic acid, which is an organic compound from apples. It’s extremely economical to use.
So, they’re the two ways to rinse your hair and it will also take away the dulling soap-film that can be left.
In my opinion, you don’t really need a conditioner.
We’ve been “conditioned” to think we do but if you do have dry ends we have something that can help.
It’s a conditioner bar made from rape-seed oil (a very oil-rich seed) and lots of natural fats and waxes that contribute to the natural health of the hair.
A little bit goes a very long way, so it is incredible value for money!
Just put that on your fingers and smooth it through your hair. It works the same way to moisturise your hair if it needs a moisture boost. It leaves it silky smooth and shiny.
